L2TP\/IPSec (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) is the easiest way to setup a VPN connection on OSX computers. OSX supports this protocol natively. The point-to-point communication between the client computer and the VPN server is encrypted using\u00a0\u00a0IPSec<\/a> suite to provide end-to-end encryption.<\/p>\n

Setting up a VPN Connection<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nOpen up your “System Preferences” and click on “Network”. Click on the “Notifications” icon.<\/p>\n

Click the “+” button to add a new network connection.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nChoose “VPN” as the interface and choose “L2TP over IPSec” as the VPN type.<\/p>\n

Name your connection “Bilkent-L2TP”.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nFill in the server address (vpn-ng.bilkent.edu.tr) and your VPN account name.<\/p>\n

Then click “Authentication Settings”.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/td>\nFill in your VPN account password and enter “bilkent” (all lowercase, without the quotes) as the shared secret.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
