L2TP/IPSec (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol) is the easiest way to setup a VPN connection on iOS devices. iOS supports this protocol natively. The point-to-point communication between the client computer and the VPN server is encrypted using IPSec suite to provide end-to-end encryption.
Setting up a VPN Connection

Open up your “Settings” and tap on “General”. |

Tap “VPN”.
Choose “VPN” as the interface and choose “L2TP over IPSec” as the VPN type. |

Tap “Add VPN Configuration” |

Name your connection “Bilkent-L2TP”.
Fill in Server address: vpn-ng.bilkent.edu.tr and your VPN account name and password. The “secret” is “bilkent” (all lowercase, without the quotes). Enable “Send All Traffic”. |

You should be able to establish a connection sliding the “Status” button towards right. |

When a VPN connection is established, you should see the VPN icon at the top of your screen. |

Visit http://whatismyasn.org and make sure that you are connected to the VPN server. |
